Love, sex and marriage are a gift from God, meant to be experienced as one. Unfortunately, Satan uses what is meant for good to destroy relationships and families. In this series we will tear down Satan's lies and examine the behaviors that lead us to God-honoring marriages.
A faithful follower of Christ is like a mighty oak tree, with deep, wide, and strong roots of faith. Unfortunately, many of us never fully develop the seed of discipleship and live shallow lives with a shallow faith. In this six week message series we will discover and embrace the core values of a deep, wide, and abiding faith.
On May 24, 1738, John Wesley attended a small group Bible study at the Aldersgate House when, while hearing a reading of Luther's "Preface to the Epistle to the Romans," he felt his heart "strangely warmed" and at that very moment felt the assurance of his salvation in Christ. That moment in his life changed everything, and John Wesley went on to lead a revival movement that spread through England, Europe, and into America, and ultimately became Methodism as we know it today.
In this message series, we will hear four of John Wesley's more powerful sermons preached in today's language and find them to be just as relevant and life-changing as they were almost 300 years ago.
Have you ever wondered, "What next?" We often look forward in our careers, our finances, and our recreational lives, but what about our spirituality? Have you ever wondered what is the next step for your faith development? This three week message series explores how the followers of Jesus Christ might take the next step in three areas of faith - giving, growing and going.
Instead of giving up something for Lent, let’s give ourselves away!
Because we are created in the image of God, our happiness does not come from status, salary, sex, or success. True happiness and fulfillment come from serving others. God designed you to be happiest when you are giving your life away. Why? Because he wants you to become like him.
Matthew 20:28 says, “Even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many” (NLT). Jesus came to serve and give. Those two things will bring more happiness in your life than anything else, and they define what it means to follow Jesus. If you’re not serving, you’re not giving, and you’re not following Jesus. It’s just that simple.
We give ourselves away because Jesus gave himself away for us, but often we don’t know how to begin.
There is the face that everyone sees and then there is the real you. We all have "masks" that we show others; sometimes to make ourselves look better, sometimes to hide the pain and hurt. This message series challenges us to come out from behind the mask and get real and authentic with God.
Chances are you would never consider "re-gifting" a gift that has been given to you. It just isn't socially acceptable. And even if you do, it probably wouldn't be your favorite Christmas gift. But that is exactly what our Heavenly Father was thinking when He gave us the greatest gift of all: hope, peace, joy, and love through His son, Jesus. What can you do this Christmas season to give hope, peace, joy, and love to others in the name of Christ?
