CFUMC PHASED REOPENING PLAN:

Our reopening decisions are based on guidance from federal, state, and local mandates as well as CDC and North Georgia Conference guidelines.

In line with Conference guidance, we have instituted a phased reopening plan based on a 7-day rolling average of new COVID-19 cases, as tracked by the Harvard Global Health Institute. Cherokee County’s current status can be found at https://www.globalepidemics.org.

–  If Cherokee County is RED, the campus will be closed. All staff will work from home except for minimal personnel to maintain ministry and facilities operations. Worship services will continue to be offered via livestream and on demand.

–  If Cherokee County is ORANGE for 14 days, offices are open and staff will work onsite. Outdoor areas and limited rooms are available by reservation for groups of less than 50 with everyone maintaining physical distancing and wearing masks. Worship services may be offered outdoors, via livestream and on demand.

–  If Cherokee County is YELLOW for 14 days, offices are open and staff will work onsite. Outdoor areas and limited rooms available by reservation for groups of less than 50 with everyone maintaining physical distancing and wearing masks. In-person, indoor worship services offered with registration, physical distancing and wearing masks. Worship services will continue to be offered via livestream and on demand.

– If Cherokee County is GREEN for 14 days, campus and offices are fully open and regular operations are resumed.

This phased approach will take the guesswork out of our decisions to move forward or to reverse our course, as well as make our process transparent and observable by the congregation and the community.
