Dear Canton First Family,
We hope this letter finds you and your family well in this time of social distancing and sheltering in place. Please know that our staff and I miss you, love you, and are praying for you daily during this difficult season. Let us remember that God is with us and for us—He is “a very present help in times of trouble” (Ps. 46.1).
In light of the latest CDC and government guidelines along with the Governor’s Shelter in Place order, all onsite worship services and on campus events are cancelled through the end of April. We will continue to offer online worship every Sunday morning and access to the past worship services through our website. In addition, we will continue Facebook daily devotions, Bible studies and meetings via ZOOM. The church office will be open from 9:00-2:00 each weekday with minimal staffing to accept food and monetary donations in support of our mission partners and community outreach. We thank you for helping us to remain in mission and ministry with MUST, Never Alone, Goshen Valley Boys Ranch, Murphy-Harpst children’s home, Northside Cherokee Hospital, the Cherokee County Schools, and of course our own Ed Towers Community Fund. If you would like to help with delivery or volunteering with any of these efforts, please contact the church office at 770-479-2502.
We have done our best to communicate with you in a timely manner since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, but we also want to hear from you. Please let us know how we can pray for you and your family. If you are unable to pick up needed groceries or medicine, please call the office or email/call a staff member. We will try our best to do everything we can to make sure the basic needs of our church family and our community are met. This is also a great opportunity for you to be the hands and feet of Jesus for your neighbors. If you know of a need, meet the need.
Finally, thank you for continuing to support the ministry of Canton First through your tithes and offerings. Many of you have become first time online givers and it has made a difference. If you do not already give online or through your bank’s online bill pay service, you can set up a one-time or recurring gift by clicking this link. Or you can mail a check to the church office at 930 Lower Scott Mill Road, Canton, Ga 30115. We remain encouraged and thankful for your faithfulness in this area and in so many others.
Keep calm, pray on, and contact us if we can help in any way!
Dr. Kenny Ott
