Have you ever wished that life could be less complicated? Technology and technical advancement promises to make our lives easier, but it seems like the world we live in is more complex and complicated than ever before.
Faith and religion are not exempt from the complications and complexities of the world. It appears that what God intended to be relational, we have turned into religion AND religion has separated us from God and one another.
In the mid-18th century, John and Charles Wesley looked at their world and their faith tradition and saw a separation. Perhaps the greatest thing the Wesleys did was take the Christian faith and made it simple, accessible to everyone. All that was required of a person who wanted to be a part of this faith was “a desire to flee the wrath to come and a desire to be saved from their sins” and to follow three rules…Do no harm, Do Good, and Attain to the Ordnances of God.
In this sermon series, we will examine each of these rules and be challenged to apply them to our lives.
In this series we will ask the most important question WHY? Questions are what define us as human beings. They make us grow, think, and explore the world around us. In the beginning of life those questions were huge. They went deep. The reason for this is because we were growing into the world around us and we needed to ask the deeper questions. Yet, as we grew into adulthood the WHY questions got hijacked by sin. The questions became more about how we could please ourselves, make ourselves more comfortable, and the like. As a result we started to live in the shadows of the world instead of soaring in the light of God.
Join us as we get back to the real WHY questions that will give purpose and meaning to our lives. Starts 1.14.18!
Join us this summer as we look at the book of Ephesians and what it means to be marked by the Spirit of God and covered in His redeeming grace. You will learn how to pack holiness, love, unity and walk fully in the light of Christ, prepared to put on the full armor of God.
Wonder what would happen if at the end of your life you found out you got it WRONG!Over the next several weeks we are going to take the life giving power of Jesus and rewrite the chapters of our life.We are going to allow the truth of the bible, of God’s Word, to shape everything we believe, see, say and do.
So many things beg for our attention. We get caught up in the world, and that is only natural. However, Lent will beg us to return to God. To make a decision to live our lives according to His will and not our own. This journey is not to be taken lightly, and if we make a commitment to it our lives will unfold in ways we cannot imagine.
We have three special days coming up that will help us all be inspired to live a new life. First, All Saints Day. The saints that have gone before leave an incredible testimony for us all. Next, Veteran's Day. Here we look at heroes and a sacrifice that we need to be making as well. Last, Thanksgiving. What does a life of thanksgiving really look like and how can that way of life lead to abundance?
