Canton First United Methodist Church is thrilled to serve in their 10th year as an official relay center for Operation Christmas Child!

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization which provides spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Operation Christmas Child’s mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. These shoeboxes are simple gifts which are shipped outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease. Shoeboxes are also delivered to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S.

There are many ways to participate and all ages can share in this ministry and mission:

  • You can pack a shoebox.
  • You can help serve during one of our drop off dates.
  • You can pray for all the children that will be receiving this small, but powerful witness to the love of Jesus Christ.

Boxes and packing information are available at the tables in the Narthex and in the hallway near the Fellowship Hall. Boxes may be dropped off on the following dates:

  •  Sunday, 11/11, 12:00 Noon to 3:00 PM
  • Monday, 11/12, No drop off
