You are invited to join a community of people who desire to know more about God and how He engages with creation and the human spirit. Each study will take you on a journey through the timeless text of God's holy scriptures as we explore the word, grow in community and engage in faith formation.
“All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
OUR 2018 BIBLE STUDIES
KRYPTONITE (Rev. Jim leads): We were created to partner with God in ruling and reigning over the earth. He made us to be powerful, reflecting His image. Much like Superman, we are destined to live supernaturally for the good of the world around us. Why is it, then, that so many of us aren’t experiencing this amazing potential? In a word: kryptonite.
Join us as Rev. Jim leads us to learn how to battle the things that make us weak and end up defeating our life with God. Can't wait to see you.
WHEN AND WHERE: Starts Jan 29th on every Monday, 6pm-7pm, Studio 3 (E. Main Cafe- downtown Canton), lasts 8 weeks
GOOD AND BEAUTIFUL LIFE (Sherri Juliani leads):
"I have never met a person whose goal was to ruin his or her life. We all want to be happy, and we want it all of the time."
So begins James Bryan Smith in The Good and Beautiful Life. The problem is, he tells us, we have bought into false notions of happiness and success. These self-centered decisions lead us further into the vices that cause ruin: anger, lust, lying, worry and judging. Eventually we find ourselves living a beautifully packaged life of self-destruction.
WHEN AND WHERE: Monday nights at E. Main Café in Downtown Canton 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. beginning January 29th., lasts 8 weeks.
CHAPTER AND VERSE (Lacey Bowcock leads): Tuesday nights 6:30-8:00 p.m. Join Lacey and other women as they go book by book, chapter & verse through the Bible. This study prompts great discussion and theological conversations.
UNGLUED (Candy Wilbanks leads)
What do we often do with our raw emotions? We stuff, we explode, or react somewhere in between. Is it really possible to make emotions work for us instead of against us? Her answer is yes, and in her usual inspiring and practical way, Lysa shows you how. Filled with gut-honest personal examples and Biblical teaching, Unglued will equip you to know with confidence how to
- Resolve conflict in your important relationships
- Find peace in your most difficult relationships as you learn to be honest but kind when offended
- Identify what type of reactor you are and how to significantly improve your communication
- Respond with no regrets by managing your tendencies to stuff, explode or react somewhere in between
- And how to gain a deep sense of calm by responding to situations out of your control without acting out of control.
WHEN and WHERE: Wednesday mornings 9:30-11:00, #119, begins January 31st.
